Chandra - The Indian Girl's name. It's important word in this story. Because this is the name of character who can make Kholy become happy, share with her the problem.
Jewelry - It's important word in the chapter one of Homeless Bird because this is the Koly's family's worried.They had to have dowry by jewelry for Koly's wedding .And that is reason why the Mehtas family agreed to get married with Koly,too.
Silver earings - It's a female attire that made from silver.
fireflies - The fireflies are important, because I think they mean lucky. After Koly got married, she'll have many difficult problem. For the situation she will fix it. So I think the fireflies are like lucky to fix some problem for the future.
Jewelry-It's important in the history because the Mehta's family ask to Koly's mom what jewelry Koly were using on the wedding and when they said a silver earings the Metha's agree whit the married.
sliver earrings- is the important words because kholy has a secret with them and they're also her mother's earrings! maybe they will help kholy in the misty future.
embroidery- Embroidery is important in this chapter, because most of Indian women did embroidary, and people regarded embroidery as women's fate. Koly did embroidery means she followed nomal woman's life as an Indian woman.
coconut cake-a cake made of coconut.It is a traditional food in wedding.Kholy like coconut cake,but they didn't prepare enough cake to everyone,so she didn't eat it.After the wedding her father slipped her one cake.
Firefly - The small insect. We can call them "Fireflies" or "Lightning bugs". They are capable of producing a light.
It's important word in this story. Koly's younger brother caught four fireflies in a jar for her, and fireflies are souvenir and bring luck for her. I think they are not only souvenir but also love for Koly.
COCONUT CAKE- that is the best of traditional food in wedding. Women didnt have a coconut cake,because men ate it a lot.
Before her family leave, bride slipped it and groom brushed his hand. It means blessing and live richness.
embroidery-It's decorative sewing with small stitches.Indian women embroidery some pictures and flowers in sari.koly's mather embroidery the wedding sari for koly.And she teach koly how to embroidery.
astrologer - This is person who tell somepeople about their future or other thing to use star. I think in this story, astrologer is important. Koly has to marry. Koly and Koly's family expect the wedding. Wedding is important in this book and astrologer can make the date for wedding. This person is a part of important thing in this story.
Silver earings- This is a piece of silver jewelry that you fasten to your ear.
The silver earings is important in this story. Becouse Koly's parents have to prepare a jewely for her downy. So her mom gave her the silver earings before her marriage.
